China: Ginger Edamame Pods Snack

Edamame pods boiled with ginger and Szechuan peppercorns for a subtle flavor addition to a simple snack.

Edamame Pods with Ginger and Peppercorns

Fresh ginger about 1/2 inch, lightly smashed
A few pinches of Szechuan peppercorns
11 oz edamame in pods

  1. Bring pot of water to boil.

  2. Add ginger, peppercorns, and edamame.

  3. Return to boil and cook for about 5 minutes.

  4. Drain and serve warm or room temperature.
